CPU Recompiler/JIT — Native code compilation for x86-64, ARM, and RISC-V architectures.
Multiple GPU backends — Hardware rendering via D3D11, D3D12, OpenGL, Vulkan, and Metal APIs.
Save state with rewind — Create snapshots and fast-forward/rewind through gameplay.
Disc format support — Reads CD, bin/cue, CHD, ECM, MDS/MDF, CCD, and PBP formats.
Post-processing shaders — Apply GLSL, Reshade FX, and Slang preset filters to gameplay.
DuckStation prioritizes accuracy and performance on low-end devices with a fully-featured Qt frontend and fullscreen TV UI. The JIT compiler and hardware rendering support make it viable across desktop and mobile platforms. Built-in cheat support, controller presets, RetroAchievements integration, and automatic game scanning provide a polished experience out of the box.
